Rombic

This light is not just a utility to make our spaces brighter the rhombus ornaments the space in which it sits in with its glistening shadow and bright lines that shine through the pendant lamp shade. In order to illuminate the gap between the faces of the rhombus connectors were designed in order to have a 5 mm gap between each face this allows defused light to illuminate space and real raw light to create a pattern.

The intention of making the Rombic was to make an affordable light that which had the ability to be made into a series of lights, such as a lighting family or an individual pendant or table light.

Being influenced in faceted shapes and geometric my design was driven by the rhombic- dodecabemicotahendron as the shape allowed the design to be multi functional. This heightens the concept to be furthered developed in order to make it flat pack-able and stay within the budget and using materials that where cheap and easy to work with in order to make the final product.
